Disposal of asbestos

Asbestos roofing sheets and building products are NOT accepted at any transfer station in Surf Coast Shire.

The Anglesea Landfill is not licensed by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to accept asbestos, but there are landfills in Drysdale and Fyansford that are licensed to receive asbestos.

Asbestos can be dangerous to human health if you don’t remove and dispose of it in the right way. The safest way to remove asbestos is to use a licensed asbestos removalist.
