Other Lifestyle Links

You will love the Surf Coast lifestyle – just ask a local! Here are some highlights:

In 2014 MICHAEL AND WENDY CLARK and their two children relocated from Caroline Springs to Torquay to launch a new, lifestyle sunglass brand, Four Eyewear. Providing European-quality sunglasses tailored to meet today’s active lifestyle blending fashion, quality, comfort and durability, Torquay was the perfect location.

“We wanted to get out of suburbia and have a coastal lifestyle for the family. Queensland’s Sunshine Coast was an option we considered but chose Torquay for its proximity to Melbourne and because it is the home of Australia’s dynamic and iconic surf brands.”

“We love the beach, being close to the water all year round, really appreciate the relaxed vibe of Torquay and how friendly the community is.”

Michael still consults from home with businesses in Melbourne but looks forward to developing the Four Eyewear brand so he can transition it to a full time role.

“It is exciting and we have received great local support,” he happily says.

DARREN TAYLOR and his family moved from Melbourne to Torquay in 2013 after attending the Surf Coast Shire stand at the 2013 Regional Living Expo. Darren has set up a new business in Torquay called The Moto God, specialising in iconic motorcycle rent and joy rides on the Great Ocean Road.

“I grew up in Melbourne but wanted a coastal change and for us Torquay is perfect. It’s close enough to Melbourne to visit family and enjoy the city whenever we like, but far enough away to enjoy quieter regional living, the beach lifestyle and the relaxed vibe.”

“Success in setting up the Moto God shop and servicing clients – from long-term Torquay locals through to international tourists – has been incredibly rewarding.”

“I’m excited about the future of our business, I’m planning an imminent expansion to a higher profile location in Torquay and will be increasing my products to a broader range.”
