Young talent time: nominate now for Surf Coast Youth Awards
9 March 2017
Nominations are open for the Surf Coast Youth Awards 2017 which will celebrate young people who excel and inspire.
Held for the third time, the annual awards recognise the worthy contributions and exceptional talent of Surf Coast people aged between 12 and 25. Nominations are welcome across four categories – leadership, music, sports and community citizenship.
Torquay Ward Councillor Martin Duke said the awards were an opportunity to recognise the diverse talent and contributions that young people make to the Surf Coast community.
“We know that our region is full of young people who deserve to be recognised, so I encourage people to put forward someone for the awards,” Cr Duke said.
“Whether it’s a talented musician, a sports star or someone who is a mentor for other young people, the Youth Awards are a great way to acknowledge their dedication.”
The winners will be announced at the Surf Coast Youth Awards 2017 at Council Chambers on Saturday 22 April. Nominations for the awards close Monday 17 April at 5pm.
