What's the Local Food Program?

It’s time to tuck in to the Local Food Program. From community gardens and innovative food businesses, to regenerative farming and good retail – our community has shown that local and sustainable food is important in Surf Coast Shire.

This program highlights some of the things Council and our community are doing already, and identifies challenges and opportunities for our local food system.

Following community consultations between February and April 2018, our community will be at the core of a three year plan that outlines actions we can take to put ourselves in a healthy position for the future – through a sustainable local food system that is supported and celebrated.

Drawing on feedback gained from the survey, workshops will be run across the shire to inform additional actions in the Local Food Action Plan 2018-2021. Details of workshop dates and venues will be posted when confirmed.
