The Surf Coast Shire has developed a number of skate facilities on sites throughout the shire. Council recognises the value and importance of providing facilities for young people and aims to:

  • provide skate facilities that are safe, original and innovative in design, that will challenge users and allow them to increase their skills
  • upgrade existing facilities and develope new facilities in key areas.

Skateboard.com is an internet site that identifies the location of skate facilities within Australia and rates them from 1 to 5.

Location: Corner Inlet Crescent and Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet

Elements: Concrete mini four-foot-high with small flat free skating area

Elements: Small concrete park with a flat bank, quarter and small fun box in the middle

Torquay Jan Juc skate parks

Djila Tjarri Skate Zone
Location: Corner Merrijig Drive and Wadawurrung Way, Torquay
Elements: Street (skate plaza style) and transitional (vertical style) facilities. Skate bowl - starts at seven feet deep and is 12 feet at its deepest. Plaza-style street skating - parking block, dual handrails, box section flat top rail, banked staging sections.

Jan Juc Skate Park
Location: 87 Sunset Strip, Jan Juc
Elements: Small skatepark with flat bank, small box, flat bar and a three-foot quarter at the other end.
